TRAHERNE

This site is designed to provide quick access to contemporary material relevant to the life and work of Thomas Traherne  1634 - 1677.  A record of earlier material is archived on the Capacitie website at www.capacitie.org and will be progressively added to this address. My emphasis on the work of Douglas Harding and others is an attempt to refocus on the primary aim of Traherne's message which is to recover our first nature, to 'enjoy the world aright'.  Most of the present interest in Traherne seems to exclude this aspect in favour of scholarly exploration of his life and times.

Effectiveness of the Headless Experiments—Why the variable outcomes?

This is the third draft of the responses to my survey of ‘Why the Harding experiments don’t always work’. That is, why do they work for some of us but not for others. It is also the content of NOWletter 132, (see www.capacitie.org). The aim of the exercise is to try to identify any perceived flaws in the experiments and flush out misunderstandings and assumptions that might be interfering with the outcome. So far, I have been able to include only one sceptic but I am hoping to add others as a result of enquiries at forthcoming workshops. Additional contributions are welcome as I propose to update this document regularly on the Harding page of the Capacitie website.  See also www.headless.org
